The National Endowment for the Arts in cooperation with Arts Midwest presents
Shakespeare for a New Generation
Idaho Shakespeare Festival's production is part of Shakespeare for a New Generation, a national
initiative sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts in cooperation with Arts Midwest.
Idaho Shakespeare Festival is one of 40 professional theater companies selected to participate
in Shakespeare for a New Generation, bringing the finest productions of Shakespeare to thousands
of middle- and high-school students in communities across the United States. This is the sixth
phase of Shakespeare in American Communities, the largest tour of Shakespeare in American history.
A Midsummer Night's Dream
By William Shakespeare
Available February 23 - May 1
Recommended for students Grades 7 - 12
“Lord what fools these mortals be!”
Love, magic and hilarity are at the center of this whirlwind of a night. Two sets of couples escaping through the forest get tangled up in fairy mischief. In the same forest, not escaping the fairy's pranks, five very unlikely actors attempt to stage a play for the Duke's upcoming wedding. This well-loved comedy is one of the most popular and entertaining of Shakespeare's works.
For booking inquiries contact Director of Education, Renee Knappenberger, at renee@idahoshakespeare.org or 208-429-9908 x206.
